Facebook and Diaspora

To know me, is to know how much I dislike Facebook because of their reprehensible and reckless approach to privacy. Well, friend to the Internet Wil Wheaton posted this:
he sums up some of the evil that is Facebook. But also, I learned about Diaspora (EDIT: www.JOINdiaspora.com) – which currently is vapor-ware, but is supposed to be a privacy-aware version of what Facebook does. Will it go anywhere? Can it succeed? I guess we’ll see – they are supposed to launch in a day, apperently…
