I know the new Ribbon feature in Office 2007 arrived with mixed reviews. For me personally, there was a learning curve – but once I found where everything is, I liked the new layout better than the old File | Edit | View | Window menu that has been around for decades. Well, as you probably know, Office 2010 was released (at least via MSDN, so far – not sure when the official release is) – and here is a quick view of the new look if you haven’t installed Office 2010 yet:
Excel
Word
PowerPoint
OneNote
In OneNote, the ribbons dropdown when you click on them, like this:
Also, in all apps, instead of having that round office button in the top-left, there is now this colored “File” ribbon, which when you click on it, looks like this (in Excel, for example):
Overall, I like this new look. It seems they kept the things that worked (the categories) and fixed what was broken (not having a “File” dropdown to do basic operations.
