The Intel i7 processor

So I saw how Dell is offering the new i7 processor in Studio desktop systems, and they really boast about it. So, I found some more information – I guess this processor is a bit of a big deal. It’s a quadcore with hyper-threading (each core handles 2 threads at a time)… which means it can handle 8 threads at one time, which is significant for a desktop system. But more – see:
It reads like it has some pretty complicated power management where it controls the clock speed based on demand, at that current second. Video performance is 40% better without additional power usage. It has 3 channels of DDR3 memory, which means a data transfer rate of up to 25.6GB/second. Wow.
Anyhow – I thought this was pretty interesting!
